NUA’s interscholastic athletics provide an educational opportunity for students to learn sportsmanship, cooperation, dedication, commitment and respect to foster integrity and strong character through participation in athletics.

Tim Shelton, Athletic Director

Tim Shelton is a Certified Athletic Administrator with the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA), and is an American Sport Education Program (ASEP) and National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) certified instructor. Tim studied at Trinity Western College in Langley British Columbia, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois, and received his Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies at Trinity College.

Tim has served on the State CIF Basketball Advisory Committee and the CIF San Diego Section Basketball Playoff Committee. He currently serves as the Scheduler for the CIF San Diego Section’s Frontier Conference and as a CIF San Diego Soccer Play-off Championship Co-Director.

He has been in secondary education and coaching for more than 30 years, 18 as Athletic Director. Tim currently is the Athletic Director for National University Academy charter schools.
